It had been two weeks since that moment in his bedroom and he had agreed to a weekly date. The first one had been canceled by Elle, who had been called into an emergency at the hospital for a traumatic brain injury. They’d rescheduled, but this time, he’d had a deal put in jeopardy and had to fly to London to save it.

So here it was, week two, he was still horny as hell, still unsure of what she wanted on these “dates” and their schedules still weren’t lining up to allow time together. This was very much on his mind when he showed up in the solarium to spend the afternoon with Rory. Conrad was there with his fiancée, Indy, and when Dash walked in with his phone in hand, they all started laughing.

“I’m guessing the joke is on me?” he asked as he kissed his sister’s cheek and sat down next to her on one of the overstuffed loveseats.

“Not really, we just had a bet that you’d either be on your phone when you came in or text to cancel,” Conrad said. “Sorry, I started it.”

“Fair enough,” he said. “But I’m putting it away for the next three hours as I promised Rory.”

“Good for you,” Conrad said, getting to his feet, and when Indy stood up next to him, he draped his arm around her shoulder. “I’m taking this one for a ride on my bike. We’ll see you in a couple of days, Rory. Be good.”

“I’m always good,” Rory said. “And I know Indy will keep you in line.”

“I try,” Indy said. “But it’s a full-time job.”

“I’m just glad I’m not the one who has to do it,” Dash joked with a smile.

He was happy his cousin had found love after so many years on his own. He and Conrad were close. They both had the Celtic word for “brother” tattooed on their bodies because that bond they had was one of brotherhood. Conrad had already covered his body with thorny branches, so his brotherhood tattoo was interwoven on his inner forearm similarly to Dash’s For many years they’d simply had each other to lean on.

“She’s a hell of a lot prettier than you,” Conrad said.

“Oh, I don’t know, Dash is very pretty,” Rory said.

“Ugh,” Dash said.

“Double ugh,” Conrad added. “Let’s get out of here before I hear anything else like that.”

Indy gave Rory a hug and Conrad did too before they left. Rory was sitting in the specialized chair they’d gotten for her that could be raised to help her stand. “Do you feel up for a walk?”

“I do. Should we call Monty?”

“If you feel safer with him, but I stopped to talk to him before I came in here. He said with the Zimmer frame you should be fine on the stone pathway,” Dash said.

“Good. I want to hear all about London. Wait, did you bring back my tea from Fortnum’s?”

“Yes, and I gave it to Mrs. J. After our walk, she’s preparing afternoon tea.
